On September 6th, the opening ceremony of “International Training Workshop on Laser Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Equipment”, sponsored by the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by Qingdao University of Technology (QUT) was successfully held online and offline simultaneously.
Mr. Liu Hua, senior officer from the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Prof. Jin Zuquan, vice president of QUT, Mr. Zhou Aimin, senior officer from Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau, and leaders of the Science and Technology Department, Office of International Affairs, and School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering attended theceremony. Twenty-one trainees from eight countries such asMalaysia, Iraq, India, Nigeria, Slovakia participated online.
Mr. Liu Hua, extended a warm welcome to all the foreign trainees, pointed out that the aim of this training workshop was to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between China and developing countries in laser intelligent manufacturing technology and equipment. And hoped that QUT would provide a high level training course for trainees with their advanced skills and experience to improve the research, development and application of laser intelligent manufacturing technology and equipment.
Vice President Jin Zuquan expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Science and Technology and Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau for their support to the workshop and welcome to the experts and trainees. He said that the holding of technology training courses was a part of Project 111 - the plan initiated by the Ministry of Education of PRC to establish innovation centers for the purposes of technology transfer and will be of great significance to promote the discipline development and the construction of high-level universities. QUT will constantly strengthen win-win cooperation between developing countries in high-end laser intelligent manufacturing technology and industries.
Professor Sun Shufeng, a Taishan scholar and head of the training workshop, introduced the training work shop comprehensively. Professor Dongsik Kim, from Pohang University of Science and Technology, delivered a speech as therepresentative of trainingfaculty. Finally, Professor Peter Monka from Slovakia and Professor Umma Abdullah from Nigeria gave speeches as representatives of the trainees.
The international training workshop was fromSeptember 6th toSeptember 25th and invited scholars and technical experts in related fields of Utsunomiya University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, University of Malaya, Shandong University, Qingdao University of Technology, Laser Institute, Shandong Academy of Sciences and Shandong Energy Reloading Group National Remanufacturing Engineering Center to give lectures on the laser processing principle, development and application of laser intelligent manufacturing technology and laser parallel processing technology. The whole training would becarried out online in English.
