To further promote the study and education on establishing and practicing a sound view of performance, QUT held an expanded experiential learning session at the Hisense International Center on the afternoon of June 5. The visit focused on the university’s role in serving the real economy and empowering industrial upgrading, with participants learning from Hisense’s practices in sci-tech innovation and digital development.During the visit,QUT renewed its strategic cooperation agreement with Hisense Group, opening a new chapter in deeper university-enterprise collaboration.


Jia Shaoqian, Secretary of Hisense; Yang Yun, Secretary of the Party Committee of QUT; and Zhang Kai, President of QUT, attended the meeting. Also present were Xu Xiaorong, Chief Talent Officer of Hisense Group and General Manager of its Human Resources and Administration Center; Zhang Wenqiang, President of Hisense Hitachi; Che Jinghua, Deputy Secretary of QUT; and Miao Jijun, Vice President ofQUT.

During the experiential learning session, members of the Theoretical Study Group and heads of relevant administrative departments watched a corporate video, listened to briefings and joined an immersive tour. They gained a systematic understanding of Hisense’s development and learned about its achievements in independent technological innovation, digital transformation and global industrial layout, as well as its practical efforts to advance the real economy and industrial upgrading.
Jia Shaoqian introduced the development of Hisense Group. He noted that Hisense and Qingdao University of Technology are both rooted in Qingdao and have achieved notable results in university-enterprise collaboration and industry-university-research integration by leveraging local strengths. He expressed hope that the two sides would further expand cooperation and deepen practical collaboration, drawing on the university’s talent resources to jointly contribute to Qingdao’s high-quality economic and social development and the implementation of major national strategies.
Yang Yun spoke highly of Hisense Group’s achievements in promoting comprehensive digital transformation and driving industrial upgrading. He said the two sides should give full play to their respective strengths and focus on joint research, high-level innovation platforms, talent exchange, achievement transformation and talent cultivation. He called for building a closer university-enterprise partnership and a new model of sci-tech cooperation, establishing a mechanism in which enterprises raise practical needs and universities provide solutions, creating shared platforms based on enterprise scenarios, exploring joint talent training guided by enterprise standards, and building an industry-university-research-application consortium.
Zhang Kai introduced the university’s development, current profile and future plans in light of its spirit of “perseverance, fortitude and readiness to shoulder great responsibilities.” He said the university would aim to become a first-class application-oriented research university of science and technology in China, and follow a distinctive development path featuring strong engineering foundations, marine empowerment, interdisciplinary innovation, digital leadership, and green and low-carbon development. The university will work with Hisense to advance research, platform building, talent training and achievement transformation, making greater contributions to Shandong’s high-quality development and Qingdao’s economic and social upgrading.
At the meeting, Lu Chenggang, Director of the Technology Transfer Center, introduced the university’s technological capabilities. Participants also exchanged views on industrial development, research application and talent cultivation.

Zhang Wenqiang, President of Hisense Hitachi, and Che Jinghua, Deputy Secretary of the University CPC Committee, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides.
Before the experiential learning session, members of the Theoretical Study Group also studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important articles published in Qiushi Journal, including “Strengthening, Improving and Expanding the Real Economy” and “Forward-looking Planning and Development of Future Industries,” as well as excerpts from Xi Jinping’s discourses on establishing and practicing a correct view of performance.
Officials from Hisense Group’s General Office, R&D Management Department, Human Resources and Administration Center, Operations and Human Resources Department of the Air Conditioning Business Division, and Technical Support Department of the Air Conditioning Business Division attended the meeting. Representatives from the university’s Party and Administration Office, Science and Technology Office, Cooperation and Development Office, Technology Transfer Center, School of Environmental and Municipal Engineering, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and School of Art and Design were also present.
