At the conference, experts from the School of Civil Engineering presented seven frontier green and low-carbon technologies, including artificial aggregates made from mud-based solid waste, carbon-curing technology for solid-waste products, spray-applied polyurea elastomer waterproofing materials, and long-durability protective materials for marine engineering structures. The presentations addressed the industry’s needs for green transformation and showcased QUT’s research strengths in green construction. The school also introduced its academic programs, graduate training and enrollment plans, further connecting university talent cultivation with industry needs.

A strategic cooperation signing ceremony was held during the conference. The Qingdao Building Energy Conservation and Industrialization Development Center signed an agreement with the School of Civil Engineering to jointly tackle key technologies and build an innovation and technology transfer platform. The Science and Technology Development Group signed an agreement with Qingdao Huixinteng Concrete Technology Consulting Co., Ltd. to establish a joint laboratory for low-carbon concrete, while the School of Civil Engineering and Shandong Yierda New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. agreed to build an internship base to better align talent training with industry needs.

Participants also visited the exhibition area, which showcased QUT’s research achievements in green and low-carbon development, typical university-enterprise cooperation cases, and technologies and products from enterprises including Qingdao Lüfan Recycled Building Materials and Qingdao Lingjun Intelligent Construction New Materials. The two sides held on-site exchanges on potential cooperation. After the conference, participants visited the Geotechnical and Rail Transit Comprehensive Experimental Center and the Civil Engineering Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Experimental Center for further discussions on technology transfer and joint talent training.
