On the afternoon of May 7, a delegation from Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), Ireland, visited our university. The delegation included Yan Yongbing, Director of China Affairs at DkIT, and Yang Jie, China Market Lead of Education in Ireland. Yue Lihong, Vice Presidentof QUT, met with the visiting guests. Sheila Flanagan, Vice President of DkIT, Patricia Moriarty, Head of the Faculty of Business and Humanities, and Fergus McCaffrey, Head of the Faculty of Informatics and Creative Arts, participated in the meeting online. Also attending the talks were representatives from the Office of International Affairs, the College of International Education, the School of Artificial Intelligence, and the School of Business.

During the talks, Yue Lihong welcomed the delegation. She noted that the China-Ireland strategic partnership for mutual benefit continues to deepen, and the trends of two-way educational opening and in-depth cultural exchanges are gaining momentum. Our university places great importance on exchanges and cooperation with Irish higher education institutions. She expressed hope that the two universities would take this meeting as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation through multiple channels such as collaborative education, joint research, and faculty and student exchanges, continuously improving the quality of international education and the level of opening up.
Sheila Flanagan, Vice President of DkIT, provided a detailed introduction to the university's history, distinctive features, and core strengths, expressing a strong willingness to deepen cooperation with our university. Patricia Moriarty and Fergus McCaffrey respectively presented the disciplinary layout, program characteristics, and talent cultivation models of the Faculty of Business and Humanities and the Faculty of Informatics and Creative Arts. They indicated that both sides would leverage their disciplinary and resource advantages to carry out diverse and in-depth exchanges and cooperation, promoting mutual learning and shared development among faculty and students.
During the talks, the two sides reached multiple cooperation consensuses on advancing joint talent cultivation and further achieving complementary advantages and resource sharing. Moving forward, the two universities will establish a regular communication mechanism, steadily implement various cooperation initiatives, actively translate cooperation visions into tangible outcomes, and jointly elevate higher education exchanges and cooperation to a new level.
