On April 3, a delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, visited our university. The delegation included Gilmutdinov Albert Khalisovich, Assistant to the Head (Rais) of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Alishev Gilmirkhan Bulatovich, Vice Rector of Kazan Federal University. Yang Yun, Secretary of the Party Committee of QUT, met with the delegation. Miao Jijun, Vice President of QUT, chaired the symposium. Also attending the meeting were representatives from the University Administration Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the Office of Science and Technology, the Office of International Affairs, and the College of International Education.

Yang Yun extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced our university’s educational profile. He noted that 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic cooperative partnership and is also the inaugural year of the “China-Russia Year of Education.” He expressed hope that under the framework of the China-Russia Advanced Technology University project, both sides would achieve more practical results in areas such as high-level academic exchanges, scientific research and technology transfer, and the cultivation of high-quality talent, jointly contributing to the development of the China-Russia Advanced Technology University and nurturing more high-caliber engineering talents with international perspectives and advanced technical skills for both countries.
Gilmutdinov Albert Khalisovich presented the industrial advantages and higher education landscape of the Republic of Tatarstan. He noted that Tatarstan has consistently prioritized the internationalization of higher education and supports scientific, technological, educational, and people-to-people cooperation with China. In the future, Tatarstan will actively promote cooperation with China in joint talent cultivation, collaborative academic research, and cultural exchanges, accelerating the development of the “China-Russia Advanced Technology University” and fostering mutual integration and advancement in education and people-to-people exchanges between China and Russia.
Alishev Gilmirkhan Bulatovich introduced the educational profile and disciplinary characteristics of Kazan Federal University. He expressed anticipation for leveraging the respective disciplinary strengths of both universities to carry out diverse exchange and cooperation activities, promoting mutual learning and interaction among students.


During their visit, the delegation toured our university’s History Museum and Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the university's development history and educational characteristics.

Appendix: Brief Introduction
The Republic of Tatarstan is located in the southwestern part of Russia and serves as a major industrial, scientific, technological, and educational center in the Volga River region. It is home to dozens of higher education institutions, including Kazan Federal University and Kazan National Research Technical University, as well as renowned research institutions such as the Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In December 2008, Shandong Province and the Republic of Tatarstan signed a Friendship Relations Agreement in Jinan, formally establishing a sister-province relationship.
Kazan Federal University, founded in 1804, is the third oldest university in Russia, after St. Petersburg State University and Moscow State University. It consistently ranks among the top universities in Russia in terms of comprehensive strength. Its distinguished alumni include Vladimir Lenin and Leo Tolstoy.
