On the morning of August 28, Qingdao University of Technology held a strategic cooperation signing and exchange meeting with Tianjin Hengjia Group and Shanghai Kepler Robotics Co., Ltd. in Conference Room 305 of the General Service Center. Wang Jian, General Manager of Tianjin Hengjia Group; Yu Feihua, Vice President of Shanghai Kepler Robotics; and Guo Heng, Chairman of Rongjing (Qingdao) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., visited the university. Before the meeting, President Zhang Kai met with Wang Jian, Yu Feihua and their delegation. Che Jinghua, Deputy Secretary of the University CPC Committee, attended and addressed the meeting, which was chaired by Wang Long, Secretary of the School of Information Management.

Zhang Kai welcomed the delegation. He noted that QUT has made continuous progress in intelligent control and embodied intelligence, with related research teams developing a number of transferable achievements. He said the university shares strong alignment with Tianjin Hengjia Group and Shanghai Kepler Robotics in technical routes and application needs. He hoped the three sides would take the signing as a starting point and promote cooperation through joint laboratories, major project applications and joint graduate training, advancing technology verification from laboratories to practical applications and building a new model of university-enterprise cooperation in intelligent robotics.
Che Jinghua introduced QUT’s educational features and recent development. He said the university is advancing disciplinary adjustment and talent training reform in response to industrial upgrading and technological change, while deepening university-enterprise cooperation. He hoped the signing would further align QUT’s strengths in talent, research and platforms with enterprises’ needs in industry, markets and application scenarios, turning cooperation agreements into concrete results.

Wang Jian introduced Tianjin Hengjia Group’s development from traditional human resources services to talent supply chain, digital and technology services. He said artificial intelligence and robotics are reshaping traditional employment models, and expressed hope to work with QUT to explore the application of AI and robotics in real business scenarios, extending cooperation from needs analysis to product development, scenario verification and large-scale application.

Yu Feihua introduced Shanghai Kepler Robotics’ R&D and industrialization progress in humanoid robots. He said the company is accelerating the application of humanoid robots in real industrial scenarios, including mines and other complex environments with high temperature and high noise. He hoped to draw on QUT’s research and talent strengths to explore robot applications in fire inspection, warehouse sorting, mining operations and other complex settings.

At the meeting, QUT signed strategic cooperation agreements with Tianjin Hengjia Group and Shanghai Kepler Robotics, and the participants exchanged views on application scenarios, key technology research and technology transfer mechanisms.

Looking ahead, QUT will leverage its strengths in talent and research to promote a cooperation model featuring enterprise-proposed needs, university-led R&D, product support and joint verification, accelerating the transfer of technologies from laboratories to enterprise sites and injecting new momentum into regional industrial intelligent transformation.
