A meeting on university-local government cooperation was held at the West Ujimqin Banner Convention and Exhibition Center. Lu Chenggang introduced QUT’s technology transfer work and potential cooperation projects based on the local industrial layout. Professor Jiang Jinming from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning presented technologies for the resource utilization of bulk solid waste such as fly ash. The two sides exchanged views on the industrial application of research achievements. Miao Jijun outlined plans and requirements for building a local research institute in line with local development needs. Alatanbagan recognized QUT’s efforts to connect with local industries and said the local government would provide support in policies, resources and project implementation.
The delegation visited key local enterprises, including Inner Mongolia Donglian Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. and SPIC Baiyinhua Pithead Power Plant, to learn about eco-friendly brick production, industrial solid waste treatment, plant operation and management, and experimental base development. The team also visited the ecological restoration project at the abandoned pit of Hadatu Coal Mine to inspect the progress of mine-area restoration and environmental governance.
During the visit, a trilateral meeting among the university, local government and enterprises was held at Baiyinhua Jinshan Power Plant, with representatives from several key local enterprises in attendance. Miao Jijun said QUT would focus on key technologies for solid waste resource utilization based on local resources and industrial development, promote the application of core technologies, and support high-quality regional industrial development. Wang Xingkai thanked QUT for supporting the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of West Ujimqin Banner, and said the local government would provide strong policy support for project implementation and industrial application of advanced technologies.
The visit helped align QUT’s research strengths with local industrial needs and enterprise technical challenges, and established a platform for university-local government-enterprise collaboration. Moving forward, QUT will give full play to its strengths in disciplines, talent and research, steadily advance the construction of the local research institute, promote the application of more high-quality research outcomes, and support local industrial upgrading and mutually beneficial development.
