Professor Marko Vilotic from University of Novi Sad in Serbia Visited QUT

On August 17th, Professor Marko Vilotic from University of Novi Sad, Serbia came to QUT for an exchange. Vice President ZHANG Kai met with Professor Marco. ZHOU Hongyan, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Dean of the College of International Education, LIU Junwei, Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, and LIU Jie, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering attended the meeting.

Firstly,ZHANG Kai stated that University of Novi Sad is the first Serbian visiting university that QUT has received. We hope that the two universities will take this meeting as an opportunity to expand substantive cooperation in cooperative education, student joint training, teacher academic exchange, international scientific research projects and other areas, and open up a new era of educational exchanges and cooperation between QUT and Serbia. Then, Zhou Hongyan introduced the basic situation of the school's international education and relevant policies for studying in China.

Professor Marco introduced the overview, departmental structure, and faculty of University of Novi Sad. The two sides discussed the possibility of international scientific research cooperation projects and joint training of undergraduate and graduate students in the future.

After the meeting, Professor Marco, accompanied by LIU Jie and LIU Junwei, visited the key laboratories of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and the School of Civil Engineering and discussed and exchanged ideas with the professors of QUT in the fields of laser technology, disaster prevention and damping, and geotechnical engineering.

This meeting has laid the foundation for further strengthening and expanding the high-level international cooperation between QUT and University of Novi Sad. It is of positive significance for deepening the friendly relationship between the two universities, promoting academic exchanges in education between China and Serbia, and advancing the internationalization process of QUT.

Founded in 1960, University of Novi Sad is the second largest public university in Serbia and one of the largest educational and research centers in Central Europe. The university has a complete talent training system for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, with 14 colleges including Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Technical Sciences, and Faculty of Technology. It has over 50,000 students and more than 5,000 faculty and staff.
