On October 10th, Vishanth Weerakkody, Vice President of University of Bradford in the UK, and a delegation of six visited QUT. Vice PresidentProf.ZHANG Kai met with the guests.Ms.ZHOU Hongyan ,Director of Office of International Affairs and Dean of College of International Education,Prof.HOU Dongshuai , Dean of School of Civil Engineering,Prof.GUO Feng , Dean of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and Ms.SHI Hui, Deputy Director of Office of International Affairs attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Vice PresidentProf.ZHANG Kai stated that University of Bradfordis the first partner university of QUT for a dual bachelor's degree program in civil engineering, and he hoped that both sides could reach agreement on the details of the cooperation as soon as possible and promote the program's implementation, and further expand cooperation in scientific research, teacher and student exchanges, etc. Subsequently, SHI Hui introduced QUT and its overseas exchange and cooperation.
Vice President Vishanth Weerakkody introduced the overview and advantageous disciplines of University of Bradford. He stated that University of Bradford attaches great importance to project cooperation with QUT and hopes to use thisprogramas a starting point to actively promote scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges between the teachers of the two universities. At the same time, Weerakkody invited our delegation to visit the University of Bradford in the UK to further discuss cooperation details and deepen the friendship between the two universities.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Integrated Experimental Center for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Integrated Experimental Center for Geotechnics and Rail Transitin the School of Civil Engineering, and the Tribology and Surface Engineering Experimental Center and Laser Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Laboratory in the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering respectively.They also had exchanges with the faculty and students of the two university.
