On September 9, Prof. Richard A. Williams, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University, led a delegation to visit QUT. Prof. Neil A Dunse, Director of Internationalisation of School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, Prof. Mike Bates, Recruitment Director, and related staff from China & East Asia Office visited QUT. President Prof. ZHANG Kai met with the guests, and the related staff of Office of International Affairs, School of Civil Engineering, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and School of Management Engineering attended the meeting.
At the meeting, both sides introduced the university history, basic information, schools and departments respectively, and said that the two universities have similar disciplinary backgrounds and advantages in the field of engineering, hoping to further promote deeper cooperation in scientific research, teacher exchanges and student cultivation. Then, discussion was conducted on double-degree multi-mode joint training programs in Civil Engineering, Project Cost, Construction Project Management, Architecture, Urban Planning, etc.
After the meeting, Prof. Richard Williams visited the Comprehensive Experimental Center of Disaster Prevention in School of Civil Engineering, learned about relevant experimental facilities and scientific and technological achievements, and communicated with the faculty of the School.
