A Delegation from KIMYO International University in Tashkent Visited QUT

On September 12th,Prof.Alisher Vakhabov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KIMYO International University in Tashkent,Prof.Karimjon Akhmedjanov, Acting Rector,Prof.Kamoladdin Saidov, Dean of Faculty “Architecture and Urban Design”, “Civil Engineering” and “Painting” visited QUT. President Prof.ZHANG Kai met with the delegation, Vice President Prof.MIAO Ji jun attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The related staff of Office of International Affairs,College of International Education,School of Civil Engineering,School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and School of Art and Design attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the two universities introduced the university history, basic information,schools and departments respectively. Uzbekistan and China are friendly neighbors, and the exchanges between two nations have a long history.Both sides hoped to actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen interactive visits and faculty and student exchanges, and carry out in-depth multi-level and multi-field cooperation. After that,the two universities mainly discussed on the joint training programs of international students in Chinese Language and Culture, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Arts and other related majors taught in English at QUT, and reached a preliminary consensus.

Introduction to KIMYO International University in Tashkent

KIMYO International University in Tashkent(KIUT) is located in the capital of Uzbekistan. It has two branches in Namangan and Samarkand. It is the first private higher education institution in Uzbekistan. The university offers different forms of study in Uzbek, Russian and English, and currently has 28 bachelor's degree programs and 20 master's degree programs, among which the advantageous majors include civil engineering, pharmacy and architectural design. KIUT currently has more than 30,000 students and more than 1,000 faculty members.
